Diary of a Zombie Mum! Promocalypse-2011
Well, it all started with me being infected with an Invitation to the 2nd Annual Promocalypse-2011 Sponsored by TattooSnob.com & held at The Cannery Ballroom in Nashville Tn. Then it slowly goes down hill I thought, first with My Hair. I don't know what possessed Me, BUT I seemed to want Fuschia Colored Locs for this Event. Once I started to wash the bleach out, the entire shower fixture comes completly off before the rinse-out, so I had to run to the Kitchen and finish rinsing there. Usually it takes 2-boxes of color for my Hair because it is so thick. Why did I think I could be thrifty and stretch 1-box (splat hair color-$9.99, don't waste your money, the product doesn't work well),....LOL Soooo, with 1-box down, (which wasn't enough), I had to drive back to Walgreens for a second box, w/Towel and all on My head, *giggling*. Once that was taken care of, I finally passed out exhausted. Waking up on Saturday (day of the dance), I first have to go to Goodwill and try to find a gown to bloody up. Did You think I had any luck? Noooooooo, so I left with only a dress Coat from the Men's Department. Now I have to refigure my outfit, ughhhhh. Along with that, Performance Studios (a costume shop, were i was 2 get my makeup done) was NOT in the normal location, the one I knew they had been in for years. I get all the way Downtown and see the sign 'We have moved to a NEW Location',....Couldn't get any worse, right? Soooo, on to the Mall, because their NEW Location was to far out of the way to travel when time was running short for Me. Thinking I could get Zombie Makeup at the Mall (wrong again), I go to Spencer's, and Hot Topic. No dice. They are seasonal products, Geezzzzz,.....LOL. That's right, all I could do without have a complete nervous breakdown was to take a Zanax, breathe, and try to think of any party stores nearby, away from saturday shopping traffic.
Finally I am Home, and I still had to add more color to My hair, so I decided to get 2 cans of Fuschia colored hair paint (which i should have done from the start, $5.99 a can).BTW, I am still presently washing-out color and conditioning the heck outta my Locs. As for my outfit, I just decided to wear one of My trademark, FAV Zombie T-Shirts, Pinstripped Slacks, a pair of Tall Black Converse Kicks, and a checkered Fuschia/Black Tie Necklace, that kinda matched My hair. Atleast I thought it was cute, AND it was comfortable. My Son just moved back home and I didn't know he was going to be here, so I drafted him as My Date. Gave him a pair of some krazy kool yellow contacts and said, "BTW, You are going to be my date for Zombie-Prom 2Nite". He just laughed a little and said "Ok, Mum". So what almost started out as a typical Nightmare/Horror, ended up turning into a 'Zombiedy'. We met some great people and had loads of FUN!
